The design of the energy-absorbing seat allows for the incorporation of an articulating seat pedestal which absorbs energy during a vertical impact, thus minimizing the potential for spinal injuries. The seat includes a six-point restraint system with a rotary release buckle and three automatically locking inertia reels.
