Current Application

 

An Introduction


The energy-absorbing crew seat (P/N 109800-1/-2) is bulkhead mounted, with the pilot (aft) seat providing vertical adjustment, while the copilot (front) seat is fixed. The seat pan and seat back cushions are designed to circulate forced air from the aircraft’s climate control system, providing increased comfort to both pilots. Each seat incorporates a five-point restraint system with a rotaryrelease buckle and an MA-16 inertia reel for enhanced acceleration sensing. The seat assemblies are modularized to facilitate installation and removal.

VERTICAL ENERGY ABSORPTION SYSTEM
Both seats incorporate Variable-Load Energy Absorbers (VLEAs), permitting occupants to adjust the VLEA control dial to their mission- equipped weight. The vertical energy- absorption system can be set to decelerate any (equipped) occupant weight from 160 to 260 lb at an average loading of 14.5 G.
